Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Officers report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for tips.
An important representative commented the attack rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
