At its most basic, they transformed an image of compassion into an icon of hostility who blesses exactly the harshness that he denounced in scripture; this has happened at a slower pace, through multiple decades as opposed to months, yet it remains disturbing via comparable methods, a disorienting gut punch for many of us.
A Toxic Christianity Establishes Itself
